MyManeBio Offers Two Types of Microscopic Hair Analysis
November 5, 2108 — MyManeBio is on a mission to solve a conundrum we all face: Which shampoo should I buy? Hair care products make many claims and promises that sound appealing but frequently fall short. And to add to this problem, most customers don’t know enough about their specific hair type to make an educated decision when they are standing in the hair care aisle. That is why in September MyManeBio began offering microscopic hair analysis services. A microscopic hair analysis is the easiest and most reliable way for someone to determine their specific hair type including the porosity, elasticity, width and overall health of their hair. And now customers have two different types options for analyses.
“We know there is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution to hair care so it just made sense for us to offer more than one type of analysis,” said Meredith Humphries, Founder and CEO. “Some customers want someone to consult with from start to finish to explain how to use the data we’ve gathered about their hair. Other customers only need the technical information, like the porosity or elasticity, that they can’t gather on their own without having the tools and expertise we have.”
Both analyses provide information regarding the porosity, elasticity, width and overall health of the customer’s hair. And both provide pictures of their hair at the microscopic level, however, the Total Hair Care Analysis provides a product ingredient review of the products a customer is currently using to ensure the products will work with their hair type. Additionally, recommendations are given for care and styling of their natural hair texture. The Total Hair Care Analysis also includes follow-up email correspondence in case customers need help understanding the information in their Hair Bio. The Foundational Hair Analysis is priced at $44 while the Total Hair Care Analysis is $89.
Based in Winston-Salem, NC, MyManeBio is a female owned and operated company that is harnessing the power of female scientists to fundamentally change the way individuals approach hair care. After customers order they are mailed a hair collection packet, in which they can easily send their hair to one of the scientists who performs a microscopic hair analysis. Each customer receives a Hair Bio which includes data collected from their hair and photographs of their hair taken through a microscope. See photos and learn more at www.mymanebio.com. Microscopic Hair Analysis Revolutionizes How Consumers Choose Hair Care Products
September 25, 2018 — MyManeBio has launched a service in which scientists look at customers’ hair samples under a microscope to determine porosity, elasticity, width, and overall health. These elements of an individual’s hair have an enormous impact on the efficacy of products and styling techniques which is why there is no one shampoo or single conditioner that works well for everyone. However, most individuals do not know the basic qualities of their own hair.
“I’ve had my DNA looked at by ancestry.com and I did a take-at-home food sensitivity test through Everlywell so I was really curious to have a microscopic hair analysis done too,” said mom of two and professional blogger at ClarksCondensed, Katie Clark. “This was life changing for me. I didn’t even know that I have curly hair but my hair analysis report taught me how to care for my natural hair texture and now I have curls! I used to just buy whatever shampoo was on sale but now I actually know what I’m looking for in a product. It is really empowering.”
The launch of this service coincides with two big trends in the beauty industry: embracing natural hair texture and being educated about product ingredients. The Hair Bio customers receive following their microscopic hair analysis gives them the information they need to be part of both of these movements.
Dr. Doris Jackson, PhD, chief scientist working with MyManeBio, said, “Consumers deserve to be educated. Not just about what makes their hair unique but also about how the formulas they are putting on their hair will react with their specific hair type.”
In 2016, the average woman’s haircut in the United States cost $45. MyManeBio’s introductory price of $49 per analysis makes it an attractive option for individuals looking for a positive change in their hair but do not know where to start.
About MyManeBio
Based in Winston-Salem, NC, MyManeBio is a female owned and operated company that is harnessing the power of female scientists to fundamentally change the way individuals approach hair care. The process starts with customers sending their hair to a MyManeBio scientist who performs a microscopic hair analysis. Then the scientist integrates their knowledge of chemistry with the information they collected from the individual’s hair sample to make product ingredient recommendations that will complement the customer’s natural hair texture. Each customer receives a Hair Bio which includes data collected from their hair, photographs of their hair taken through a microscope, product ingredient recommendations and styling tips for their specific hair type.
