Porosity
Your hair has tiny (like, microscopic) openings all over it. But not everyone has the same amount or the same size pores. Heat, dye, chemicals, UV rays, and chlorine can change the porosity of your hair over time. Knowing if your hair is high porosity, low porosity or somewhere in the middle makes a big difference when buying products and caring for your hair.
Elasticity
Healthy hair is all about balance. In this case, you want harmony between the moisture and proteins in your hair. Brittle hair, without much give, may mean your hair is thirsty for moisture or has too much protein. Too much elasticity can be a sign of too much moisture, hygral fatigue, or not enough protein leaving your hair lifeless. There are lots of hair care products designed to help alleviate these challenges but knowing what to buy can be its own challenge!
Width
During our analysis we will measure your hair width at the root and tip. It is one way to know if your hair is thriving with your current hair care routine and can grow long locks or if your routine needs to be altered.
Overall Hair Health
Your hair is unique in so many ways including how resilient it is when exposed to different washing and styling routines. And since your hair is living your life with you, we also think about the environmental factors that may be affecting your hair. For example, some hair may be able to withstand lots of time in the sun while another person’s may be damaged by the same rays. During our analysis we will take into consideration your lifestyle along with what we are seeing under the microscope. When we put this all together we will get a good picture of the overall health of your hair.
